Project: Finding Light and Shadow to Give Us Form
Description: Students create a black and white still life from observation. They must examine the changes in value and temperature to accurately depict a convincing illusion of three-dimensional form with a consistent light source.
Learning Outcomes: Distinguish the relative aspects of value perception and temperature effect as they apply to solving design problems. Exhibit knowledge of composition, value, and an awareness of the different surface characteristics of different materials.
