Course: Painting 1
Project: Trompe L'oeil (Still Life as Self Portrait)
Description: Students create a their own still life using objects that are sentimental or important to them. Through looking at troupe l'oeil works from the last 300 years, students examine compositional structures that bring attention to the flatness of the picture plane.
Learning Outcomes: Exhibit skill in the use of design tools, techniques, and materials sufficient to develop a concept into a finished form or product. Distinguish the relative aspects of color perception and color effect as they apply to solving design problems. Exhibit knowledge of color dimension, including hue, value, and saturation.
