Course: Furniture Design and Human Factors
Project: Full Scale Furniture Design Inspired by a 2D Artwork.
Description: Students individually design and construct a full scale, functional piece of furniture that is inspired in some way by a two-dimensional work of art.
Learning outcomes: Students will understand movements and traditions in furniture, decorative arts, and art. Students will express ideas clearly through visual media (ideation drawings and sketches). Students select and apply products and materials on the basis of their properties and performance criteria, including ergonomics, environmental attributes, life safety, and life cycle cost.
